Genuine Santa Fe Blog

For centuries, Santa Fe has provided a backdrop for the exchange of ideas and interaction among a range of cultures, including Native American, Spanish, Mexican and American. In search of a higher spiritual calling—from enlightenment to rejuvenation—each of these groups has been drawn to the area’s inspirational, mystical energy.

What they have left behind is a rich culture known as Genuine Santa Fe—a mixture of heritages celebrated at the Inn and Spa at Loretto, one of Santa Fe’s finest hotels. Shaped by the many diverse people that have called this area home, Genuine Santa Fe encompasses an uplifting, rewarding experience for each traveler who passes this way.

You have won us over!

I wanted to let you know how appreciative my friends and I were of the accommodations during our recent stay in Santa Fe. The service that we received was superlative in every aspect from the front desk to the concierge. We were extremely pleased with the service that we received from one of you bartenders, Felipe. He provided our group with a number of outstanding recommendations, while also providing an unparalleled mint mojito. Your resort has definitely won over a good group of guys, and we’ve all sworn to return with our wife’s someday in the near future. Thank you again, and I hope to see you soon.

Summer Specials in Luminaria

Just wanted to let you know some exciting summer activity that is going on at Luminaria. We have updated our wine list. Because Luminaria is dedicated to vineyards that pay respect to, and lessen our footprint on, our environment we have noted wines that fit into this category in green with a leaf symbol. ¡salud! and here's to healthy drinking! Our bartenders have also created a few organic cocktails made with all organic ingredients. The 4 Copas Margarita is amazing! Chef Brian has also started his herb garden on the patio. Not only does it smell fantastic and look great he will be using the herbs in his dishes too! So summer is back and the patio is gorgeous! When can we expect you?

First Annual Mother's Day Blessing at the Inn and Spa at Loretto

Located in the heart of Santa Fe, where historic crossroads intersect Native American beliefs and traditions, spiritual awareness, and reverence for Mother Earth and Father Sky, stands the Inn and Spa at Loretto. On May 10, the Inn brings its past and present full circle by celebrating its first annual Native American blessing ceremony. Conducted by Walatowa (also known as Jemez) Pueblo Elders Flo and Sal Yepa, the ceremony uses song, dance and prayer to invoke spiritual guidance and blessings to honor mothers in attendance. Members of the Sisters of the Loretto, which taught children of the Jemez Pueblo and have historical ties to the Loretto Chapel and the Inn, will also be in attendance. The one-hour ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Inn's garden and is free and open to the public. Cultivating a passion for traditions, Luminaria will also serve its annual Mother's Day Brunch elegantly boasting a savory assortment of modern American dishes garnished with southwestern flair. For guests interested in a weekend getaway, hotel rates are available starting at $199. Learn More
