Condé Nast Traveler Readers Rank The Spa at Loretto

Last year, Condé Nast Traveler readers casted 28,876 votes to recognize the top 270 spas in North America, the Caribbean, Hawaii and at Sea. According to Condé Nast Traveler, 10 years ago, their annual readers’ survey produced a list of 40 top spas, with the lowest score in the 60s. This year’s survey delivered 270 spas, all with scores above 80. Using the same 100-point rating scale, readers rated spas excellent, very good, good, fair, or poor on three criteria: 1) Spa Staff, 2) Spa Treatments and 3) Spa Facilities. Those scores, representing the percentage of respondents who rated a spa excellent or very good, were averaged to determine the overall rating for the spa. A minimum number of responses were required for inclusion in these rankings. The Spa at Loretto earned an overall rating of 92.9, which included a 95.2 for Spa Treatments, a 92.9 for Spa Staff and a 90.5 for Spa Facilities. The Spa at Loretto was one of two spas in Santa Fe to rank in this prestigious reader’s list.

Honoring the distinctive cultures and traditions that represent Santa Fe, The Spa at Loretto takes a respectfully holistic approach to the art of massage therapy and well-being. At the helm of this New Mexican spa is director Suzanne Chavez. An energy work specialist and ordained minister trained in the power of natural healing, Chavez infuses the curative spirit and traditions of Santa Fe’s Native American people into The Spa at Loretto.

“Santa Fe has long been a revered destination for its holistic and restorative powers,” said Chavez. “At the spa, we do our part to honor this tradition by using indigenous ingredients and rituals in our treatments to enrich a guest’s spa experience and help them achieve their desired outcome. We are grateful for this recognition and to the many guests that entrust their body, soul and mind to our therapists.”

Using locally-sourced ingredients, Chavez personally mixes the Spirit of Loretto; five custom blends of aromatherapy massage oils – Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Spirit – that infuse Mother Earth’s restorative powers into each spa treatment. In harmony with Santa Fe’s natural healing and therapeutic powers, the Spa at Loretto features a spiritual line of Intuitive Lifestyle treatments that complement its existing breadth of indulging services. From ancient global rituals to specialty body treatments, each treatment integrates age-old remedies, healing herbs and natural oils used by Native American spiritual healers to promote self-healing, tranquility and inner balance.
