Come to your Senses at The Spa at Loretto - Aromatherapy Oils

The days when a woman walks into a room accompanied by a cloud of perfume and leaving an indelible fragrance footprint in her wake are so over - thank goodness!  As more and more woman are learning about the danger of phthalates, a fragrance stabilizer used in most synthetic perfumes that can wreak havoc on hormones, perfume as olfactory assault is obsolete.  Natural perfumes and essential oils, besides being a healthier choice, is a subtler one.  Uplifting the mood of the wearer and making only her most intimate circle privy to the richly textured scent hovering on her skin.

Blending these subtle mood enhancing scented oils is an ancient craft dating back to 3500 BC where distillation pots were found in Ancient Egypt.  The use of essential oils and aromatherapy has gained mass popularity in recent times with easy access to an unlimited selection of exotic oils from around the world.  We can now experience these oils pure, blended, or used in natural perfumes.  The Spa at Loretto, located in the Inn and Spa at Loretto, has been blending aromatherapy oils for a few seasons now.  The most popular seasonal blend for massage or bath is called Winter - Santa Fe

I have lived in Santa Fe for 33 years now and have always been enchanted by the scent of the city on a cool winter evening.  There are exquisite moments when the air smells crisp, woodsy, and light I have always thought, 'That should be bottled and sold!'

I believe I have come captivatingly close to creating this scent.  An earthy yet soulfully light scent.  Santa Fe at dusk, its crisp fragrant evening air with the faint scent of pinon burning in kiva fireplaces, cradled in a hint of ancient earthy spices.

I am currently blending Winter – Santa Fe. Come by The Spa at Loretto today and come to your senses ...
